The Corvette Stingray from the early days!

In its “Saddle Tan” livery, it catches the eye at first glance! To die for, Fall in Love!

These Corvette C2 (2nd Generation) were built from 1963 to 1967.

The first series had been built since 1953. The Stingray is the stingray or venomous spur ray. It was designed and designed under the styling direction of Bill Mitchell at General Motors.

The Corvette logo is made up of 2 flags, the 1st includes the fleur de Lys (royal symbol, but also of purity and loyalty) and the cross of the Swiss flag, the country where Louis Chevrolet was from. The 2nd is the checkered flag (the American flag originally having been banned from use for commercial purposes).

Description

The model that we are presenting to you, comes from St Louis in Missouri - USA, has remained in the same family for 51 years since the beginning. Arrived in France in 2014, it has had 2 owners. We know it well because it is one of the first cars we had at our first Parisian show in 2015, freshly arrived from Le Havre. It is equipped with the 340 horsepower 5L4 (327ci) V8 engine, of which 6,978 units were manufactured in 1963 out of a total of 117,964 built in 5 years, all types combined.

The car is Matching Numbers (engine, gearbox, color) and is presented for sale in exceptional condition.

The bodywork has been restored in the US and is of good quality. The paintwork is superb and there are no major defects reported. The windows are tinted as well as the windshield, everything is in good condition. The Knock Off aluminum rims are in excellent condition as are the white wall tires. The 5.4L V8 engine runs smoothly, consumes no oil, and doesn't get hot. A major mechanical overhaul was carried out in June 2019 with the replacement of the gear selector seal as well as the change of the gearbox support with gearbox and engine oil change.

The braking was revised the same year with replacement of the master cylinder after rectifying the front drums. The suspensions have been revised with change of the rear shock absorbers, replacement of the rear camber tie rod, replacement of the rear axle silentblocks and replacement of the rear wheel shaft crosspieces.

This includes small but not insignificant comfort interventions such as the starter relay, the flashing unit, door locking, the alignment of the front bumpers, the alignment of the exhausts, the seat fixings, the adjustment of front headlights and windshield wipers.

The car arrived by road by its current owner who admits to having driven it little over the last three years, having taken care to put a small piece of cardboard under the heel of his shoe to avoid damaging the carpet. This can attest to the quality of maintenance and monitoring of the Corvette Stingray C2.

The Corvette starts like clockwork and its ride height is just right, neither too high at the front nor too low at the rear. It is stable on the road, its power steering makes it smooth to drive, its gearbox is precise as well as its braking. The line of this car is fabulous and in this very rare livery with its unique leather interior which makes it one of the most beautiful C2s we have to offer for sale.

The car received disc brakes and a new double-line stainless steel exhaust! Followed in our workshops for more than 2 years.
