A Simca 8 1200 Barquette Gordini Replica. We can say nothing other than the fact this is a very nicely built lightweight racer. The car has been built around a steel Simca 8 frame with a handmade aluminium body. Since its build it has only travelled 1.054 km which shows to its advantage. Absolutely everything from top to bottom is in superb condition. The quality of the aluminium body panels is great and the shut lines are perfect. The newly well-applied red paintwork is pristine. Whilst the car’s interior is spartan, it is also undoubtably the case that the workmanship has been meticulously executed. The bucket seats are upholstered in brown leather, which contrasts nicely with the bare aluminium inside and the flame red exterior. The 1200 engine has been fitted with twin Webers that propel this Simca 8 a lot faster up the road than you might expect. The chassis and suspension parts are all pristine, which is reflected in the car’s superb handling. The drum brakes complete the driving experience and are more than adequate to bring this little racer to a quick halt. The manual transmission is precise and free of play. If you just happed to be in the market for a unique 50’s racer in top quality condition, this is the car for you.
