Beschreibung

1934 Rolls Royce 20/25 four Light H.J. Mulliner Saloon
Chassis number: GGA55
Registration Number: AXF694
Ordered new by the Managing director of Hambros Bank, the car was specified for continerntal touring & thus had twin side mount spares fitted from new along with chrome GB numerals to the rear. When he died the car went to his daughter where the car was kept at the family estate & used for high days & holidays. After that the car had two other owners local to Bristol prior to entering the current solicitors ownership. It is thus a very low mile car with the 56,000 indicated miles believed to be original. The steering is absolutely taut & play free. The Brake & throttle pedals show no discernable signs of wear.
Coachwork is a four light saloon by H.J Mulliner with wind up division. The original owners manual comes with the car as do a large assortment of recent invoices. The car has had an SU carburettor fitted for ease of starting & running. The original comes with the car however & could easily be re-instated. The windshield folds wide open for motoring on hot days.
Paint is cream over black with some age related minor imperfections. To the interior is magnolia leather in very good serviceable order. The rear seat back is original but the seat bases front & rear have been replaced some time ago & have thus attained a suitable patina. The roof was recently recovered so is in like new order. Headlining is west of England cloth & the original hat net is in situ. The car has lovely burr walnut woodwork which is in its original semi gloss finish as done by H.J. Mulliner.
The car features on Page 186 in Daltons renowned tome on Rolls Royce cars. A period speakerphone system comes with the car in its original box. To the rear of the car is a lovely original Dunhill motoring trunk. A good bit of money has been recently spent upon the car to put it in tip top driving order with attention to the brakes & a new clutch having been fitted. Should you need a room for the night we would suggest recourse to the 1938/9 AA hotel handbook that comes with the car or call Whitehall 1200 if you need further assistance.
We will be better photographing the car as soon as better weather arrives. All in all a very nice thing at a very reasoanble price which will provide great motoring pleasure to the next lucky owner.
