- Number 13 of only 356 examples
- Just 26,928 km from new
- The ultimate open-top incarnation of the 997-generation lineup
The Speedster name of this 997 refers directly to the legendary Porsche 356 Speedster of the 1950s, a model that still represents lightness, simplicity and pure driving pleasure today. To underline that connection with the past, production of the 997 Speedster was deliberately limited to just 356 examples worldwide. As a result, it is now one of the rarest and most sought after versions within the entire 997 generation.
Our beautiful Carrara White 997 Speedster is lucky number 13 of only 356 examples built and has covered just 26,928 km from new. Its Speedster character is immediately recognisable thanks to the distinctive double bubble hardcover, the windscreen lowered by 60 mm and positioned at a sharper angle, and the wide, low stance that makes this model so unique.
Technically, this is far more than a regular 911 Cabriolet. The 3.8 litre naturally aspirated flat six produces 408 hp, which is 23 hp more than the standard 911 Carrera, and is paired with the fast 7 speed Porsche Doppelkupplungsgetriebe, better known as PDK. In addition, the Speedster was equipped with Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake, once again underlining that Porsche did not build this model merely as a styling exercise, but as a fully developed and technically advanced 911.
The car was delivered new in Italy by Autocentri Balduina S.r.l., Centro Porsche Roma Nord, where it was also maintained. It later travelled to the Netherlands, where it continued to be looked after by Porsche Centrum Gelderland. The documentation file is strong and includes, among others, the original stamped service book, instruction manuals, the Porsche Communication Management booklet, Porsche Assistance documentation, RDW documents, inspection reports, the Porsche 111 point check and the alarm system certificate.
This is an extremely correct, well cared for and particularly interesting example from a very limited Porsche series. Thanks to its low mileage, European history, Carrara White specification, PDK transmission, PCCB braking system and strong documentation, this is a reference example for the collector looking for a modern Porsche with genuine historical significance.
The 997 Speedster is not an ordinary 911 and it never will be. This is a model that Porsche deliberately created as a tribute to its own heritage, with a production number that immediately confirms how rare it is. For those who truly understand the Speedster name, this is one of the most interesting modern Porsche collector cars of its generation.
