1974 | Porsche 911 Carrera 2.7

 It remains the most fascinating of the so-called "G-model", for many reasons: first of all because it is the first, the real one built in the model year '74 distinguished by the letter G, secondly because it mounts a noble mechanics, being the direct heir of the 2.7 Carrera RS; finally because it dominated the scene for 15 years, both in competitions and on the road. The shape of the Carrera 2.7 MY74 remained the same until the arrival in 1989 of the 964 series; a more powerful  naturally aspirated 911 arrived only 10 years later with the 3.2 which delivered 22 horsepower more than the 210 standard in the Carrera 2.7: by the way this engine has a much more furious delivery, characterized by the Bosch mechanical fuel injection. Thanks to this engine of the Carrera 2.7, generations of drivers raced and won between the mid-70s and the end of the 80s, confirming that this 911 was competitive and high-performing for a long time.

The 911 Carrera 2.7 we are offering was built on December 1, 1973 as a '74 model year, for the Italian market to be sold in Tuscany - precisely in Lucca - on May 31, 1974 to the first owner who kept it for 4 years. The car then changed hands in Reggio Emilia, Parma, Turin and then arrived in Milan in 1984, the city of which it retains its current license plate, in the hands of an owner who kept it for 16 years, who was also president of Porsche Club Italia; another owner kept the car for 19 years until the current one who owns it since 2019.

This Carrera 2.7 is presented in the original configuration, Grand-Prix White with blue-black interiors in Shetland-Twill fabric, and Katacolor windows as the only optional.

The car has undergone a conservative restoration by the Porsche Classic Catania Centre, by Rosario Palazzo. Particular care was taken to the bodywork - which was in excellent condition, without rust - and the mechanics which were completely refreshed. The interiors had been renovated in the past and require some light work to ensure the originality of the original fabric.

Careful and brilliant, this 911 Carrera 2.7 is delivered with all the original equipment: document holder with original use and maintenance booklet, double keys, tool kit, compressor for the spare wheel and jack; the chronological extract and the restoration dossier with Porsche Classic certificate of origin, where you can see that the example is matching number, complete the set.

The current owner has “completed” the restoration of his Carrera with the Carrera side lettering, Pirelli CN36 tires, white front indicators (specific for the Italian market for 74 and 75) and the ducktail rear bonnet. The smooth original was painted with the car and is delivered as a set.

As it is one of the first 800 examples, this chassis has the specific reinforcement on the  central tunnel mounted only on the first Carrera MY74 produced; a further confirmation of authenticity and rarity.
