Beschreibung

1969 was a pivotal year for the 911, introducing the most substantial improvements since the Stuttgart coupé's launch five years earlier.

The wheelbase was extended (+ 2.25 cm) to improve handling, two batteries at the front corners of the trunk replaced the single one to increase front-end stability, the fender profiles were slightly redesigned to accommodate larger wheels, and the interior was updated to enhance comfort.

Motorsport-driven choices in those years dominated the organization of the Porsche 911 range, which was divided into three variants: the T version, more basic—but also lighter, serving as the basis for racing setups—with a carbureted engine; the S at the top of the range with 170 horsepower; and the E positioned in the middle, combining the reliability of the first 2000 engine with mechanical injection, now delivering 140 horsepower. The E introduced the innovative Hydrolastic suspension, developed in collaboration with Boge. However, it proved ineffective and inefficient, and was almost entirely replaced with the more common torsion bar and shock absorber system.

The E already had the self-ventilated discs and aluminum brake calipers of the S, with very similar equipment to the S: 6x15 Fuchs wheels, dual-beam headlights, chrome side skirts, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and instrument clusters with oil pressure and temperature gauges, along with the oil and fuel levels.

The Porsche 911 2000 E we are offering is well known, having owned it ten years ago: model year '69, in the original Irish Green color with black vinyl and velour interior; produced on July 4, 1969 for the Italian market and sold new in Florence in September of the same year to a well-known entrepreneur. The car then spent part of its life in Milan and finally, in 1990, came into the hands of the owner from whom we purchased it in 2016—fresh from a complete restoration—to pass it on to the current owner.

The restoration work was carried out with great attention to originality, preserving as many original equipment components as possible, as can be seen from the dates on some parts. The body, sound with its original bottoms, was repainted according to period specifications. The mechanics were completely overhauled, as was the electrical system. The interior was expertly redone according to original specifications and, in addition to the black velour comfort seats, two Recaro sports seats were installed, finished in white, black, and green houndstooth.

Matching numbers car (both engine and transmission) comes with a Porsche production certificate along with ASI registration.

The car can be inspected by appointment in Bologna. More details on www.gulfblue.it
