This magnificent 1965 Jaguar E-Type 3.8 OTS, one of the most coveted and collectible versions of the entire E-Type production, is a rare example originally delivered and registered in Italy.
First registered in Lucca, it stands out as one of the few Open Two Seaters sold new in the Italian market—an important detail that significantly increases its desirability.
At its heart lies the legendary 3.8-litre XK engine, number RA6716-9, from the same mechanical family that made the E-Type world-famous upon its launch at the 1961 Geneva Motor Show. Capable of exceeding 240 km/h, the 3.8 paired with the close-ratio Moss gearbox represents the purest and most sporting interpretation of the early E-Types, highly sought after by collectors worldwide. Production numbers of the 3.8 OTS remained relatively limited, and finding an example with correct numbers and documented Italian history is increasingly rare.
Following several mandatory license plate changes—required at the time whenever ownership was transferred to a different province—the car was finally registered with its last plate in Milan on March 29, 1994. It then passed to a new owner, who maintained it with great care until 2019, when it was acquired by a major private collection, where it has remained to this day.The car has always been kept in running order, regularly inspected and preserved in authentic configuration, complemented by a reduced-diameter Moto-Lita steering wheel, a much-appreciated accessory among tall sports-driving enthusiasts.
It is currently undergoing a series of maintenance and refinement works carried out by our organisation, aimed at ensuring optimal performance and further enhancement.
