This car was purchased in 2004 by a prominent Spanish collection where it has resided ever since. It was purchased from the Real Car Company. This Derby was bodied as a Barker Sedanca Coupe by Ashton Keynes restorations who built the body as an exact match to an existing car that was used as a template. The proportions are thus perfect & I have to say that when I first saw the car I could not initially believe it was not an original Barker bodied car from new.
The car has been in the sunny Valencia climes for the last two decades & thus is in superb condition. The collection of 50 or so cars has its own in house mechanic who has taken care of servicing the car. A new Clutch is about to be fitted prior to sale as the current one is close to the end of its life.
The paintwork is a very dark green over putty beige & suits the car admirably. The roof is leather covered also in beige & is in excellent condition but would respond well to a deep clean. To the interior is tan leather lightly patinated & in very very good order thoughout along with pale brown carpets edge bound in leather. The interior woodwork is also in good order.
The boot is capacious & well able to stow large volumes of luggage. An assortment of small tools are found located in the boot lid tool tray. The car starts easily & runs well not having done a huge mileage since the Ashton Keynes full rebuild. Oil pressure is good & the engine both quiet & powerful in the traditions of the silent sports car.
Being Spanish registered as it is there are no taxes to pay should it go to any other EEC counrty. Viewings are by prior appointment just south of Valencia.
