Description

1904/5 Buick Model B
Registration Number: VHV0001 (Spanish).
Beautifully restored & sold to the Current owner by Kruse Auctioneers in America in 1998 some 26 years ago. The car was catalogued in the auction as 1904 but has not been VCC dated. All accompanying papers also refer it to as bineg of 1904 origin. During the current ownership it has seen sparing local use for rallies & special occasions.
The engine is a large capacity flat twin of some 3 litres & boasting pushrod actuated overhead valves. It is rated at some 21hp & is surprisingly powerful. It always starts readily & once warmed up climbs steep gradients with alacrity. The engine is mounted in the middle of the car underneath the front seats.
The body is finished in white throughout & has red buttoned leather to the interior & a maroon hood. Respoked wooden wheels are fitted all round. As the car is undated it is important to note that it might date as 1905 rather then 1904. Not being London to Brigton afficionados, the current family collection are not particularly bothered as to its exact date. It is however a very rare survivor of early Buick motoring & is in first rate condition thoughout.
Starting is achieved by cranking a handle on the side of the car & then at an appropriate moment releasing the decompression lever. The car is as good underneath as it is on top & is close to concours thoughout. The usual quota of brass lamps & acoutrements adorn the car. The steering column is adjustable for rake. Three pedals are mounted on the floor none of which do what one might expct but helpfully have labels cast into their surrounding plate giving the driver an idea of what my happen when one is pushed down. Second gear is engaged by pushing the right handed gear lever forwards.
This car three decades ago had over $100,000 US dollars spent upon its restoration & has held up perfectly presenting as new.
Viewings are by appointment in Valencia. It is European taxes paid.
