    Description:

    In the mid-1960s, you could hardly be more prestigious on the road than behind the wheel of the "royal fin". After Mercedes withdrew the so-called "Adenauer" from the programme in 1962, the W112 became the top model. From 1963, the 300 SE was extremely successful in rallying. In its very first season, the 300 SE won the „Acropolis Rally“ and the „Deutschland Rally“. It celebrated its greatest triumph in South America: at the Grand Prix for Touring Cars in Argentina. Over a distance of more than 4,600 kilometres, Mercedes-Benz achieved an incredible victory in 1963. All four Works cars finished in the top four places. And in 1964, Eugen Böhringer and Klaus Kaiser once again won this extremely difficult endurance race in the 300 SE.

    From 1961 to 1965, 5,202 examples of the 300 SE were produced, only a few of them with a short wheelbase and manual gear shift!

    The Mercedes Benz 300 SE presented here was fully restored a few years ago by the Mercedes-Benz specialist Kienle regardless of cost and designed for historic rallying in the style of the famous competition cars of the W112 series.

    The car was regularly used in historic rallies and impresses with its astonishingly high level of comfort and outstanding driving perfomance.
