1980 | Mercedes-Benz 230 T

For sale is a 1980 S123 in absolutely original and fantastic condition, ready to hit the road immediately and without compromise.

The car has and never had any rust!!! The underbody is still as it was delivered by Mercedes. Unwelded, no sheet metal has been used – absolutely rare!

Add to that the mileage of less than 100,000 km, which you can see and feel. The interior is well-maintained and unworn; the seats and carpets are all original and well-preserved; the headliner has no stains or cracks. The paint is the 930 Silver Blue metallic paint, which was only available at an additional cost at the time. It is completely original and has never been repainted or altered. Only two small dents on the rear left were "removed" by the original owner (see pictures). The original 14" rims and hubcaps are also in great condition.

How is that possible?

The car was kept in a collection in southern Germany for almost 20 years until 2024, where it was only driven for trips and maintenance.

I picked it up from there in early 2024 and used it as a daily driver for two springs,

summers, and autumns. During this time, I drove almost 30,000 km without any breakdowns, problems, or damage.

Why am I selling?

I think a comparable S123 will only be available in collections. In its current condition, the question for me is whether I want to continue using the car as a daily driver, i.e., also in wet conditions or in winter, in other words, as a purely functional item.

I answered no to this question, as I believe it should end up in hands that will influence its condition so that it is preserved! Unfortunately, I can't do that myself due to a lack of a hall or additional parking space.

Carburetor overhauled

Fuel lines replaced

Tie rods replaced

Track adjusted

Seals replaced (differential, drive shaft)

New fuel pump

15" steel rims with 2025 summer tires, complete set

15" aluminum rims with all-season tires, complete set

Electrical system overhauled

All bulbs replaced/checked

The car is truly in perfect, everyday-use condition. It's registered and driven. A test drive is possible at any time and can be arranged by arrangement in the Berlin, Bedburg, or Lake Constance area.

If I sell, I'll have a new MOT (German Technical Inspection) at my own expense, so this is officially confirmed!
