Descripción

The Jaguar XK 140 FHC offered for sale here is an exceptional coupé, a true jewel of automotive history and a real rarity as a left-hand drive car. With its elegant, stretched body and bold British Racing Green, it gives a whole new meaning to the term "style".

It's a shade that underlines the car's character and enhances its presence on the road.

The Jaguar's green leather interior is a place of luxury and sophistication. The seats offer a high level of comfort, while the dashboard is finished with elegant wood trim. Every detail has been carefully designed to convey a sense of elegance and style.

This XK 140 FHC is in excellent condition and has been meticulously maintained. Technically the car has had some modification in the form of a 3.8 litre engine block, C-Type cylinder head and 2 HD 8 carburettors. The current owner acquired the extensively restored Jaguar in 2015 at Auto-Salon-Singen. In the same year, the dealership carried out a short expert report which was awarded a grade of 2+ and a replacement value of 118,000 euros.

Since then, it has been a reliable companion on vintage car rallies and trips for the current owner. It was not until 2023 that it had an extensive technical overhaul at a cost of around 10,000 euros. Now it is once again in perfect condition and is waiting to take part in street driving again.

If you are looking for an exceptional vehicle that is both stylish and powerful, then the Jaguar XK 140 FHC is the perfect choice.

This Jaguar is a true collector's item and will give you many years of enjoyment.

** History of the Series**

The 1956 Jaguar XK 140 FHC was undoubtedly a masterpiece of automotive history. With its elegant and timeless design, it caught everyone's eye and set new standards in performance and luxury.

The XK 140 FHC (Fixed Head Coupe) was developed as the successor to the successful XK 120 and was an improved version in many respects. The body was revised and given stretched lines, giving the car an even sportier look. The characteristic curves and the distinctive radiator grille gave the Jaguar XK 140 FHC an unmistakable appearance.

Under the bonnet was a powerful 3.4-litre in-line six-cylinder engine that produced an impressive 190 bhp. This enabled the XK 140 FHC to reach a top speed of over 200 km/h, which was absolutely remarkable for its time. The Jaguar accelerated from 0 to 100 km/h in just 8 seconds - an impressive performance.

The Jaguar XK 140 FHC was also extremely successful on the race track. With numerous victories and podium finishes in prestigious racing series such as the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the Mille Miglia, it proved its exceptional sporting abilities.

Although the XK 140 FHC was only produced for a short time - from 1954 to 1957 - it left a lasting impression in automotive history.

The vehicle is located in our showroom in Stuttgart-Plieningen, close to the airport/trade fair. A test drive and an inspection on the car lift are possible by arrangement.

The sale takes place on request with new inspection, service and TÜV. We also offer a wide range of accessories for your new dream car. If required, we can also deliver the vehicle to you in a closed trailer.
