Descripción

The idea to build a clone of the Le Mans driving Cunningham Lightweight E-Type was born years ago by a Jaguar collector. The car should be close as possible to the glorious original car.
A new steel monocoque (necessary to be legal for Peter Auto Sixties Endurance), supplied by Martin Robey was used and the complete body was hand built by an experienced technician in full aluminium. Featuring an aluminium bonnet, doors, louvred hard top, rear wings, tail and louvred boot lid - just everything, while the engine has a cast-iron block and straight-port cylinder head, a specification that allows the car to run in most pre-'66 GT events. Other noteworthy features include a limited-slip differential; twin fuel pumps; long-range fuel cell; adjustable shock absorbers; and an electronic rev counter, the latter supplied by Denis Welch Motorsport.

The car is finished in the most attractive colour scheme of Old English White with blue stripes, similar to that of Briggs Cunningham's famous racing lightweight.

Final preparation and finishing touches were entrusted to Wren Sport, who recommended that the engine should be tuned by recognised specialists Sigma to improve power output. Sigma made a number of improvements following sessions on their rolling road dynamometer. hey commissioned the car for the owner with invoices on file for approaching £40,000 in 2020. Finally a FIA-HTP was issued.

Then unfortunately the owner made the decision to sell the car during the pandemic in 2021. Impressed from the quality the car was build, a prominent and front running E-type racer bought the car and decided to uprate the gearbox to a 4-speed race specification synchromesh gearbox. He and his team of mechanics have completely gone through the car. Having completed two days of intensive testing , and after uprating the exhaust system, suspension and further rolling road testing, the car proved itself with a 1 minute 27.6 around Goodwood. Otherwise the car is still fresh and unused in like new condition!

FIA approved and road legal, with current HTP papers, this example is now ready for racing. With the original Briggs Cunningham car registered '5114WK', '5994WK' offered today is a fitting tribute at a fraction of the money. Let's go racing!
