The first C-Types took to the Le Mans circuit in 1951 – and success was immediate. Stirling Moss shattered the lap record by an impressive six seconds, while Peter Walker and Peter Whitehead claimed victory with a commanding nine-lap lead. A performance that not only marked the beginning of Jaguar’s golden age in motorsport but also laid the foundation for a legacy that continues to this day.

With its revolutionary tubular chassis and streamlined bodywork – designed by Malcolm Sayer, who later created the E-Type – the C-Type is much more than a racing car.
