Beschreibung

This impressive Jaguar left the world famous Coventry factory in April 1967. Originally finished in Opalescent Golden Sand with a contrasting red leather interior trim this stylish Jaguar was supplied new to Stapleton Tyre Services of Watford from the franchised dealer Henlys of London.

The car remained in the UK until 1990 when it found a new home in New Zealand where Beacham cars were commissioned on behalf of Contental Motors in Hiroshima, to completely rebuild the car to it's world renowned levels. It was then that it had a bare shell restoration and was painted in Opalescent Gunmetal with a new interior and retrim by G W Bartlett. No stone was left unturned in the build and the Mk. II was thoroughly brought up-to-date with a five-speed Getrag gearbox, air conditioning, Coombs rear spats, a completely rebuilt engine for use with unleaded fuel, power rack and pinion steering, central locking and halogen headlamps to name just a few of their signature touches. The car then spent some time in Japan and via a short residency in Marbella it returned to the UK.

Since its repatriation the car has continued to be updated with the inclusion of Coopercraft four-pot disc brakes all round and wider Competition 72 spoke chrome-wire wheels wearing Michelin XVS tyres. All in all, this stunning early Beacham restoration has retained all of the true character of the classic Mk. II, but thanks to their craftsmanship and wise choice of OEM and upgrades, it is an extremely enjoyable and easy to drive modern classic. Consigned by Dominic Lake.
