AVAILABLE: 1987 Bentley Turbo R LHD

82,600 km. Originally Claret over beige hide. Repainted black sometime during its life. In current ownership since 2018. The current keeper has realised, that he will never have time to use the car as intended and has decided to let it go. Car has been stored indoors since bought and needs recommissioning and work to put it where it deserves to be technically and optically.

My assessment after a short inspection and test drive. Bodywork: solid and appears rust free. Paint: non original black paint is not done to the highest of standards and is peeling off in places. Interior: wood veneer needs redoing, upholstery has faired better but needs proper care, one rear carpet missing. Engine: starts on the button and idles well without smoke or any mechanical noises from crankcase or cylinder head (contact us for video). Gearbox: difficulties to engage D and R intermittently. Electrics: rear left window slow, speedometer not working, not all functions tested. As I could only drive at lower speeds in an industrial estate, I can’t judge suspension and brakes properly but no apparent weaknesses. The previous Belgian owner spent money on the cooling system (water pump, hoses etc.) and various other parts in 2014.

I believe that this car is best suited for a DIY mechanic with RR/Bentley competence or for trade offers. Make no mistake, the car needs work but offers a solid basis for doing so.
