This late-production 1976 Triumph TR6 was imported back to Europe from the United States in the late 1980s, like so many others of its kind. It underwent a comprehensive restoration between 1991 and 1992 by its second German owner, who kept the car until 1994. The third German owner then cherished it until 2000, before passing it on to the last owner, who proudly drove it from 2000 until April 2025.
A remarkable history file accompanies the car, containing nearly 200 meticulously kept maintenance and restoration invoices from the past three owners. Adding to its charm, the file even includes quirky ***old school ***photographs from the 1991 restoration. Unfortunately, after 25 years of ownership, the last custodian has had to part with the car due to medical reasons.
We often say there are three types of classic car enthusiasts: the “restorer,” the “collector,” and the “driver.” This Triumph TR6 unquestionably belongs to the latter category. It has been exceptionally well-maintained and is best described as a solid Condition 2- car. More importantly, it drives superbly—a true testament to the extensive care and attention it has received over the years.
