Description
The first Tojeiro Bristol built for Percy Crabb and raced by him extensively in 1955. The car was a departure from John Tojeiro’s early simpler parallel tube, leaf sprung chassis designs. It was constructed with a space frame chassis, coil springs and unequal length wishbones at the front as well as a de Dion rear axle.
Notable races in ’55 included the Goodwood 9 hours sportscar race, however, the car failed to finish crashing on lap 48 with A. Rogers at the wheel. After a subsequent accident at Snetterton with Percy Crabb driving the damaged car was purchased by Roy Johnson and restored for road use in 1962. Returning to the track again in 1964 at a Snetterton Clubmans Meeting.
With continuous unbroken ownership history to the present day this important 50s sports racing car is now offered for sale and eligible for the Goodwood Revival, RAC Woodcote Trophy, Legends Stirling Moss Trophy.
