1971 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow LWB with Division
1971 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow Long Wheel Base with division. Registered 'TRX 1' in March 1971 by Mr J W Cameron recently retired owner of the Cameron / Lion's Brewery of Hartlepool, finished in Garnet with Black vinyl roof and Beige hide interior, which it retains to the present. The car stayed in the ownership of Mr Cameron until 1977. Throughout his ownership the car was serviced by the Rolls-Royce agent who supplied it, Appleyard of Harrogate. When it was purchased by Rice & Son of Brighton and registered '7 BKT', the servicing was taken over by marque specialist Martin Walter of Canterbury. There are 10 invoices present for works carried out and servicing during Mr Rice's four year tenure. In 1981 the car was purchased by Mr M.J Lewis of Wimborne, Dorset and registered '33 ML'. Mr Lewis kept the car for 33 years until 2014. During his ownership the car was regularly serviced and maintained by main agents Arnetts of Bournemouth, Henly’s of Salisbury and specialists Eastcliffe of Bournemouth. Since 2014 the car has resided in West London and Spain. Since arriving at our workshops we have carried out a 24,000 mile service, fitted a new exhaust and new brake pads, the car is now on the button and ready to go.
The long-wheelbase 'formal sedan' Silver Shadow was available with or without division but only the partitioned example such as this one were offered with separate rear air conditioning, separate radio, electronic glass division extra reading lights and small rear window for added privacy, this particular example also benefits from rear quarter privacy glass and a combination of West of England wool cloth and Beige hide trim in the rear compartment. Having been very well maintained all its life with very few former keepers and offered with an impressive history file with service history from new, this extremely rare and original formal sedan represents a scarce opportunity for any collector, not to be missed.
