Description

The 997 generation of 911 was released in 2004, and was tasked with bringing the 911 concept into the 21st Century. Porsche's designers and engineers made several key revisions to the 997 over the outgoing 996. Visually, the car bears more resemblance to classic 911 design than its predecessor, most notably shedding the controversial 'fried-egg' headlights.

The turbocharged version of the 997 series featured the same 3.6 litre twin-turbocharged engine as the 996 Turbo. It also offers higher fuel efficiency compared to the 996 Turbo. The 997 was the last generation of 911 to feature the famous Mezger engine, named for its legendary engineer, and was only fitted to the Turbo and GT models, making this Turbo one of the final models to feature such an engine.

A desirable manual gearbox example, this car is supplied with its original bookpack including stamped service book showing five stamps up to 48,491 miles in 2018. The car was later that year sent to Gridfords Porsche in Surrey who replaced both the turbos at a cost of £9,473.30. Forming part of a significant collection, the car has only just over 200 miles since. Due to the lack of use, the car is now available for sale and has just had new a new battery fitted. Maintained by his inhouse mechanics despite its lack of mileage, the car starts on the button and presents very well.

Highly optioned from new, these options include: Porsche ceramic composite brakes (PCCB), Sports Chrono package plus, adaptive sports seats, PCM telephone module, carbon interior pack, instrument dials in Carrera White, sports shifter, outer door-sill guards in carbon, park assist and heated seats.

With only four former keepers this car comes supplied with a V5C registration document, invoices for service history including the turbo replacement and the factory supplied bookpack in its original case. The best specification of these last of the Mezgner 911s, this car, as a manual and with carbon ceramic brakes along with the satisfaction that the car has been very well maintained, makes this potent sports car a very tempting option that is just at home on track as it is around town.
