Finished in the gleaming colour combination of Pheonix Orange coachwork with contrasting gloss black bonnet and roof. The cockpit benefits the fitment of premium seats with Windsor leather upholstery, perforated leather inserts and contrast stitching and Alcantara headlining that all add’s the panache of luxury motoring. The luxury look is finished off by the leather-trimmed gear knob, handbrake lever and bright aluminium interior trim and Windsor leather hand-stitched top and lower role.

The Adventure benefits with the fitment of additional underbody protection and BF Goodrich tyres to boost the Defender’s already class-leading all-terrain capability along with a snorkel, air conditioning, heated seats, bluetooth hands-free, DAB Alpine sound system, LED projector headlamps, rear step, heated front window and gloss black split-spoke alloys.

In addition, highly respected marque specialists JE Engineering w enrolled the services of to improve and were enrolled to enhance the performance, ride comfort and complete drive to the cost of £7,701 (invoice is on file).

Tuning 

Starting with the fitment of stage 2 JE Tune+ which brings the performance up from 122 BHP to 183BHP. JE designed High Flow aluminium intercooler which is almost 50% bigger than standard and ensures the engine gets the maximum amount of cool, dense air possible. ECU remap is tweaked to take advantage of this larger intercooler and, as always, we fit an ITG performance air filter element. 110 Dynamic pack supersport.

Supersport Suspension

Dynamic Pack give an excellent combination of ride and handling qualities without making the rear too stiff, thereby maintaining a safer balance in harder use. Fox dampers with remote reservoirs offering variable damping rates to improve performance over short bumps and longer undulations in the road. Remote Reservoir dampers fitted to the front and rear supplied by Fox Racing mated to JE Specification anti-roll bars, matched to the spring rates. It benefits from optional 30mm lower springs at the rear to give a more balanced attitude.

Startech steering wheel

The JE/Startech Steering wheel is a couple of inches smaller than the standard Land Rover rubber steering wheel. It is trimmed in black leather, with a black/silver Land Rover logo at the centre. The advantage with this steering wheel is that the smaller size allows yours hands to be slightly closer together which effectively gives you a bit more elbow room between the wheel and the door. It is well-shaped and comfortable to hold.

Noise reduction – sound deadening stage 2

Reduced transmission of noise through the metal panels of the floors, doors, and roof. Flat metal panels must be prevented from resonating by the application of self-adhesive patches of foil-backed rubber material. On top of this, a layer of rubber/foam sandwich absorbs air-born vibrations and reduces sound reflections. Carpeting and soft headlining materials also help with noise absorption. A combination of Noise Killer and Dynamat products are also used.

The Stage One Noise Reduction packages give the full treatment to the floor panels, through which most of the noises from the engine and drivetrain transmit to the cabin. The stage two packages add-in work to the doors and roof, which tend to be more important in transmitting road and wind noise.

Plus the fitment of LED lights and Mantec wheel carrier.

An icon for over 68 years, the Land Rover Defender’s production ceased in January 2016 with more than two million models made since the original series 1 production began in 1948. The Adventure was produced as one of three run-out special editions to mark the end of production of this iconic quintessentially British off-roader.
