A Gordon-Keeble is a hand-built GT and highly exclusive; only 99 were ever built. In 1965, it was the fastest four-seater in the world, and its turtle logo is a fine example of English humour.
The exterior looks exceptionally beautiful and a great deal of money has been spent in the past to get the GK-1 into this condition and keep it there. The restoration has been carried out with great care. The paintwork is of a high standard. The difference between a good and a perfectly painted car lies mainly in the time-consuming and costly preparation. You can see from all the details that this is a more than excellent restoration. Everything is new, beautiful and immaculate. The Webasto sunroof is very rare and adds to the driving pleasure.
The interior of a Gordon Keeble is stunning in any case. It features all the beautiful details that belong in a classic GT, such as the diamond pattern finish. The dashboard is lavishly equipped with beautiful gauges and toggle switches, and everything exudes handmade quality. During the restoration, everything was renewed with respect for the originality. The interior is therefore in top condition. The seats have been reupholstered and covered with new black leather in the correct pattern. The dashboard is beautiful and without any damage. The new wooden steering wheel and large aluminium gear knob fit perfectly into such a classic interior. A Rally Twin Master and a Bradex high-pressure fire extinguisher have also been installed.
And driving it is incredible. The reconditioned V8 delivers 300 hp and 488 Nm, so it has enormous power. This engine runs beautifully and sounds amazing. This Chevy 327 was definitely an excellent choice. Super reliable, relatively light and easy to tune up. Shifting gears is also light and easy, and there are no extraneous noises. The car has been taken apart down to the last screw and meticulously restored. You can see that and feel it when driving. And everything has been done while retaining the special details. Without exaggeration, this GK1 is the most beautiful and best Gordon Keeble currently available for sale.
