Fiat 500 C "Topolino", grey over beige interior, registered new in Brescia the 2nd December 1952 then sold to Ferrara in 1960, where it had the current documents and title.
It has been restored by the current owner under the experience of his mechanic, Mr. Bergami, who took part to the 1953 edition of the 1000 Miglia with a Topolino - number 19 - completely similar to this car; his team-mate was Mr. Poggioli. Car number 19 retired from the race at Futa pass due to a pistol break down.
From that first 1000 Miglia Topolino, Mr. Bergami re-used many components on this 500C, to make it completely as the original: for example, the car mounts the rev-counter, the water temperature gauge, the co-driver lamp, three headlights, badges and four sport Fergat wheels.
The engine, brilliant and sporty, had been overhauled with these specs: intake and exhaust manifold for two Weber carbs, load-bearing camshaft, larger intake and exhaust valves, larger head manifolds, polished intake ducts, larger wet sump and sporty exhaust.
The interior is original and preserved, as the body and the electrical system, according to current traffic laws.
This car can attend the most important regularity races as the 1000 Miglia with coefficient 1,25. It could be seen in Bologna by appointment. Further photos and information on www.gulfblue.it
