1968 ASTON MARTIN DB6 FOR SALE
First launched at the London Motor Show in October 1965, the Aston Martin DB6 was the natural continuation from the DB4 and DB5. This new distinctive model offered a higher roof line and longer wheelbase to achieve greater head and leg room. Other prominent features included the distinctive Kamm tail, split front and rear bumpers, re-designed oil cooler opening, together with front quarter lights.
Supplied new on the 25th March 1968 by Guy Salmon to A.J Swann and Sons limited, the car was originally presented in Aquamarine with Red Connolly leather trim. Optional extras included Borg Warner transmission, power steering, chrome road wheels with three eared hub caps, heated rear screen, front seat belts and power aerial.
The original log book reveals that the vehicle changed hands in 1970 to a Joan Keep Penney who subsequently sold the car in 1973 to the current owner. Presented today in Silver Birch with Deep Red leather interior, the car was upgraded by Aston Engineering in 1993. These upgrades included the fitting of an original ZF 5-speed manual gearbox, combined with a Vantage conversion and air-conditioning (for use when touring in Italy.) This was carried out as part of an extensive restoration program at this time. In 2021, the vehicle received further recommissioning including re-treatment of the underside, rebuilding of the suspension, brakes and steering.
To conclude, following 50 years of ownership our client has now decided to part with his pride and joy. Included with the car is the original owners handbook, toolkit, wheel Jack and an in-depth history file including the original build sheet and log book.
