The Alfa Romeo Berlina, or first Alfa Romeo 1750 and later Alfa Romeo 2000, was a sedan of the Italian car brand Alfa Romeo. The Berlina was built between 1968 and 1977 and was the largest sedan offered by the car brand at the time.
The Alfa Romeo Berlina was born in 1967 as the successor to the largest Alfa Romeo Giulia sedans. The Berlina was designed by Bertone and got a 1779 cc engine that produced a maximum power of 118 hp. The car was called both Berlina and 1750, referring to the Alfa Romeo 6C 1750s. The 1750's engine was also used in Alfa Romeo's sporty coupes, resulting in the 1750 GTV and 1750 GTAm. The 1750 GTAm won, among other things, the 1970 European Touring Car Championship. The Alfa Romeo Spider also got the 1779 cc engine from the 1750 from 1967.
In 1971 the Berlina got a larger 1962 cc engine (132 hp) and the name 1750 was changed to 2000. The 1750 was still available until 1972, when it was succeeded by the Alfa Romeo Alfetta. The 2000 was still in production until 1977. Also of the 2000 a GTV and GTAm version were made and the Spider was again equipped with this new Berlina engine.
