Vehicle Modifications:
The car is been modified to be a bit more practical, saver and faster. It has an:
• Alternator
• 123-ignition
• Electric fan
• spin-oil filter
• Triumph tune aluminum tape cover
• Triumph anti-rolbar and up rated suspension kit
• Rack and pinion conversion from Revington TR
• Thin belt conversion
• Stainless steel exhaust
• Oil cooler with thermostat
• overdrive.
Also the car has:
• 60 spokes wire wheels
• Upgraded disc brakes
• Improved Girling differential
• Rollover bar and professional 4 point Race/Rally harness, FIA approved (NB. The rollover bar is later adjusted, wherein the upper part has been removed. The part which is mounted to the chassis is present as well as the safety belts). The safety belts can easily be removed and fitted again
• New bucket seats (retro) are also provided
• New rear leaf springs (not Moss but special made)
• Overhauled gearbox and overdrive
• (new) convertible top 2010 (almost never used)
• Classic Vredestein tires installed.
Below a summary of some work done on the TR for rally driving:
• Front assembly screen, headlamps, etc. removed and fitted again on behalf of revised radiator and steering house replacement
• Steering Column mounted and additional bracket mounted
• Carburetors had to remove, Steering disassembled + support for new wheelhouse and brackets welded to chassis
• Placed new oil cooler, connect + support construction for cooler and thermostat
• Replaced new hoses.
• Support Dynamo changed so that the alternator is in line with the crankshaft and water pump
• Wishbones, support and upper arm control replaced
• Chair support rails removed for new supports
• Supports and mounting brackets for front lamps made, assembled and varnished.
• All old holes welded, polished and lacquered
• Assembly sump plate, disassembly earlier oil cooler support, Fit crankcase protection plate. Carter protection plate
• Main power switch mounted (transit and cables custom made)
• Wiring, relay switch and contact wires to connect spotlight and fog light and horn connected
• Etc.
Owner Comments
The engine is redone, balanced and everything. The head has stainless steel valves, slightly bigger inlet and outlet. It runs beautifully, no holding back! Overdrive has been overhauled, jumps in like a dream. Gearbox, dif, all suspension parts etc. have been overhauled.
The TR was appraised October 20188. The expert has the replacement value set at 40,000 euro (rapport).
The TR was bought and imported (SA) in 2002. It has been in maintenance its whole life in the Netherlands by heritage garages.
Since 2007 maintenance and upgrades was carried out by Hans Kooij (the best TR specialist in the Netherlands). He also carried most of the works.
Note: Under the hood is paint damage from spills of hydraulic oil.
