Description
The 911 was a considerably more expensive car than its predecessor the 356. So from 1965 to 1969 Porsche manufactured the 912 as their entry level model and a cheaper alternative to the 6 cylinder 911. A 90 HP version of the 4 cylinder 1.6 engine from 356 may not give the blistering performance of the 130 HP 6 cylinder 911 bomb shell, but the lower weight and improved weight distribution made the 912 a nimble and excellent handling sports car in its own right and is today considered an attractive and full worthy member of the classic Porsche family.
This lovely 1967 model is the attractive 5-instrument version with 5-speed gearbox. It has been the subject of a full restoration from empty body shell, glass blasted and all rust made using only original body parts. Then primed and given a professional oven baked spray in Slate Grey and with correct stone chip paint applied to the under body as per Porsche specification. All trim parts have been re-chromed. Both the engine with new 1750 cc big bore kit and the 5-speed 901 gear box are fully rebuilt as is all other mechanics as suspension, brakes and steering. The interior is leather done by professional upholsterer together with new carpets.
This is an attractive 912 in a great color sitting on correct 4.5J15 steel wheels with original chromed hub caps. We have a comprehensive file of documentation on this restoration.
