Description

History

The MGB (MG Type B), is a car of the brand MG (Morris Garages) manufactured from 1962 to 1980 and declined in four successive versions: MK1, MK2, MK3 and MK4. It is often considered as the archetype of the English roadster.

Four successive series of MGB were built:

The MGB Mk I, equipped with a 1.8 liter three-stage engine;
The MGB Mk II, equipped with an engine of equivalent displacement but with five bearings;
The MGB Mk III, close to the previous one but with different finishes (grille, rear lights);
The MGB Mk IV, equipped with rubber bumpers, single carburettor and raised suspensions (this in conformity with the anti-collision standards in force in the United States from May 1974).
Description

This little MGB was imported from the USA in 2000 with its original configuration: rubber bumpers and brown interior. It comes from California. Its owner has proceeded to a total refection of the car and has modified the bumpers with a chrome bumper kit, has installed a new black leather interior with door panels and carpeting; a MOTOLITA steering wheel has been added to complete the package.

The paint is beautiful as well as all the chrome, it is a rather old paint, which is more than 20 years old but it presents well.

Mechanically, the car is well maintained, interventions with invoices are in the file. The car does not heat up, it starts at the quarter turn. The gearbox is 4 speeds with an overdrive which gives a great driving pleasure. Fully equipped, this MGB is very nice to drive and very modern. The chassis is very sound and it is ready to drive!

Our opinion

The little roadster as we like! Easy to use, the MGB is a classic and modern roadster.
