2005 | Ford GT

A modern homage to the iconic GT40 that won the 24 Hours at Le Mans four times in a row in the 1960s, the Ford GT was first unveiled as a concept car in 2002, where it would receive such an overwhelming response that Ford decided to put it into production.

Appearing at the 2004 North American International Auto Show, the new Ford GT was heavily inspired by the original GT40, with its sleek low bodywork, prominent air intakes and stainless-steel dual-exhaust tailpipes.

While externally it was visually similar to the original, it was a completely 21st century design. It featured a lightweight frame, aluminium body panels, bonded floor panels and an engine cover with a one-piece carbon fiber inner panel to protect the rear-mounted all-alloy supercharged V8.

Capable of a top speed of 200 mph and 0-60 in 3.5 seconds, the new GT was an extraordinary driving machine and is still considered one of the best supercars ever produced; it was, in Ford parlance, "Pace Car for an entire company."

It features a 550hp centrally located 5.4 liter v8 aluminium with “Lysholm” supercharger and dry sump engine lubrication system allowing the engine to sit low in the car frame and a 6 speed manual gearbox fitted with a limited slip differential.

This unit was imported new directly from the USA in 2005 in “Mark IV” Red exterior finish with optional double white racing stripes for the model. Bucket leather seats in black “Ebony”, McIntosh stereo, keyless entry system, BBS painted lightweight aluminium wheels, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Brembo 14-inch front and 13-inch rear disc brakes.

This GT is definitely in magnificent collectible condition. All the gauges work perfectly, the upholstery of the seats, as well as the rest of the interiors are also in excellent condition.

It has had two owners in its history in the little more than 7,000 miles (11,265Km) travelled and currently the vehicle is with all the documentation, the books, the two keys, and all the maintenance history. It is registered with ordinary Spanish registration with up-to-date documentation.
