Description

• Attractive colour scheme in metallic green and light beige leather • Folding sliding roof • Engine "Matching Numbers" • Older partial restoration and overhaul done • Aston Martin Heritage Trust Certificate • Stylish "driver car" with authentic patina to drive or good starting point for further optimization as desired This Aston Martin DB6 was delivered in 1968 to the company K & M Reproductions Ltd. in Great Britain. The version was and is RHD (right hand drive). According to the available Aston Martin Heritage Trust Certificate, the original delivery color scheme was "Goodwood Green", a medium green metallic, with a leather interior in "natural" (Conolly 846). This stylish and typical color combination for English sports and touring cars in green-metallic with leather in light beige is still worn by the car today. The obligatory chrome spoke wheels with central locking fit to it. The existing folding sunroof was probably retrofitted later, but is a contemporary feature of the time. The engine of this DB6 are "Matching Numbers". The car is an older part restoration that is largely well preserved. The installed exhaust system and underbody lines are new. The engine has also already been invested in during an overhaul. The paintwork has been renewed but is not perfect in detail. This Aston Martin is particularly suitable as a "Driver Car" and offers an excellent and above all complete basis for further optimization measures, which can be carried out according to one's own wishes and needs. The future owner therefore has the choice to use the car in a used and respectable overall condition or to restore it to top condition. The attractive price leaves a margin for such measures. The Aston Martin DB6 was introduced in 1965 as the successor to the legendary DB5. The DB6 had a larger body with a more streamlined fastback-style ridge rear. It was roomier and thus offered more space and comfort. It had a platform frame chassis and a body made of aluminum with a tubular steel skeleton in "Superleggera" construction by the Italian Carozzeria Touring like its predecessors DB4 and DB5. The familiar 4-liter inline six-cylinder engine from the DB5 took over the powertrain. With three SU equal-pressure carburetors, it produced an unchanged 286 hp. Power was transmitted via a manual five-speed transmission to a rigid rear axle guided longitudinally by control arms and transversely by a Watt linkage. The front wheels were individually suspended on double wishbones of unequal length. Coil springs and telescopic shock absorbers are fitted to all four wheels. From 1966, a more powerful variant was available under the designation Vantage, which produced 325 hp thanks to three Weber twin carburetors. In 1967, the DBS was launched as the successor in a completely new design, which initially continued to use the engine of the DB6 and later received a newly developed V8 engine. However, the DB6 continued to be produced in parallel until 1970, most recently as the DB6 Mark II. A total of 1,788 DB6 vehicles left the plant in Newport Pagnell.
