The Peugeot 404 sedan was introduced to the general public in May 1960 at the Paris Motor Show in front of the world press.

The design of the Peugeot 404 was drawn by Pininfarina. The car became a huge sales success and no fewer than 2,399,509 copies of the Peugeot 404 were built. The Peugeot 404 is the first Peugeot to achieve this million-dollar success!

The well-known advertising slogan 'a miracle on wheels' was therefore completely justified, even the accountants agreed.

Our example was delivered with the 4-cylinder 1,618 cc engine with 74 HP and is coupled to a manual transmission with four gears. The Peugeot left the factory in 1967. The Peugeot also received an original sliding roof from the factory and received its first registration on 17-04-1967. The car was imported to the Netherlands in 1997 and has been in the possession of the previous owner since 2002.

The body is completely original and never restored and very intact and has the original first paint: "Ivoire". The interior covered with black leather is also completely original. The sheet metal is nice and thin and the fits are correct. Over the years, the car has been very well and professionally maintained with a very extensive and therefore demonstrable history through many invoices of (major) maintenance. The engine is wonderfully smooth and fits perfectly with the relaxed character of the car. The transmission shifts precisely and all other controls and instruments function as they should. In short, a completely original and unique, beautiful specimen that many a Francophile dream will of! There is absolutely no second of a Peugeot 404 in this kind of quality.
