The second-generation Chevrolet Corvette C2 drew inspiration from the marine Stingray. The Chevrolet Corvette is a proper American muscle car. The car has a lightweight fibreglass body on a stiff frame housing a V8 engine at all times.
This green example first entered traffic in 1966 and has been restored since. This Chevrolet Corvette C2 Stingray Convertible has a 350Ps small-block V8 attached to the favoured manual 4-speed gearbox.
The fibreglass bodywork has a lovely Mosport Green finish. The car was resprayed during its restoration. The Mosport Green contrasts beautifully with its white hood. The car has the correct ‘66 hubcaps with whitewall tyres.
Inside it is a sea of green with fine green carpets, dark green vinyl and a dashboard top. The car also has a lovely wooden steering wheel. The well maintained gauges and switches all work as they ought to.
Mechanically the car is perfectly in order. The engines run fantastically. The steering and gearbox are perfectly responsive. The brakes and suspension are in excellent shape, contributing in no small way to the pleasure of driving this car. A cursory glance under the bonnet reveals a plethora of shiny new parts.
