Nürburgring Classic 2025 – Historic motorsport for everyone

When the sound of classic racing engines and the smell of burnt rubber and fresh popcorn fills the air in German region Eifel in early summer, numerous enthusiasts are drawn to “the Ring”. More than 23,000 visitors flocked to the ADAC Nürburgring Classic 2025 in the Eifel from 13 to 15 June in mostly sunny and hot weather to experience a weekend full of racing history.

Whether in the pits or along the Grand Prix circuit, spectators rarely get closer to the historic racing cars and drivers. Every nook and cranny is being screwed, oiled and made ready for the start. The colourful mix of spectators, drivers and machines is what makes it so appealing. The large number of spectators is particularly impressive because the oppressively hot temperatures – including the thunderstorm during the night – were actually more of an invitation to a trip to a lake than to a race track.

Sporting variety at the Nürburgring Classic 2025

In sporting terms, the Nürburgring Classic 2025 traditionally offers a wide range of cars and racing series. In the ‘Boss GP’ category, among others, the ‘fastest series in Europe’ presented an exciting field of large and powerful racing cars from past years. Over 50 racing cars from the golden era of touring car racing – i.e. DTM, DRM, STW and ETCC – also ensured honest racing and excitement in the stands. The ‘battle of the dwarves’ was at the top of the favourability rankings. The ‘little ones’ such as the NSU TT, Mini Cooper, FIAT Abarth and co. delivered thrilling races.

The hustle and bustle in the paddock is at least as exciting as the battles for position on the race track. Photographer Steffanie Horneff was right in the thick of it and captured the unique atmosphere between engines, people and machines with her camera.

For all those who didn’t make it this year, the date for the next edition has already been set. From 12 to 14 June 2026, there will be the next opportunity for unfiltered, pure classic motorsport at the Nürburgring Classic 2026.
