Jaguar XK 150 3.8 SE DHC (1960)

This is a highly original but fully restored Jaguar XK150.  It came from California with only 3 previous owners but it had been in dry container storage for 40 years. The chrome bumpers and lights had been removed but the bodywork and all mechanical parts were complete and in excellent condition with very little or no corrosion.

The car has just completed a 2 year full bare-metal restoration back to its original specification and colour scheme when new (only upgrades are seat belts, electronic ignition & alternator).

 In particular:

• it is a rare all original unmodified 3.8L lhd car (still with its original paintwork underneath the interior trimming and in the boot compartment)
• all numbers matching with the Jaguar Heritage Certificate (included) & vehicle identity plate (i.e. all-original chassis, body, engine and gearbox)
• restored to its original colours i.e. cream bodywork & wheels, dark blue interior, blue hood (with some of its original cream paintwork left in boot) with all-correct door gaps - everything works as it should - even the clock!
• fully-rebuilt automatic gearbox, fully rebuilt engine, fully retrimmed interior + hood + cover, rebuilt radiator
• New stainless steel fuel tank, stainless steel exhaust system, Dunlop front & rear disc brakes
• one of the last XK150's built (dispatch date 30th March 1960)
• believed genuine 77730 mileage from new

• a complete original tool set (jack, grease gun, mallet, spanner set etc)
• 9 of the original California State car tax records proving previous ownership
• original California black and yellow car registration licence plate
• original XK150 Owners Handbook and related documents
• file of receipts and photographic record of the restoration
• book about the principal previous owner of the car - American photographer Charles Brittin was famous for his iconic photos of the West and South USA in the 1950's & 60's period - the book is called "West and South" and in response to renewed interest in his work was recently reprinted. 

It is a high quality restoration:
- Engine completely rebuilt by XK engine specialist Classic and Modern Engine Services Ltd
- Automatic Gearbox completely rebuilt by JT Automatics Ltd
- Bodywork and paintwork finished to a high standard by classics specialist Winchfield Engineering Ltd
- Complete new interior with new mohair hood (and cover) by classics specialist Aldridge Trimming Ltd
- The major chromework (both bumpers etc) comprises original Jaguar parts which have been restored and rechromed by traditional chrome plating specialist Beckworth Sivabronz Ltd

All bodywork and mechanical parts used are original refurbished and restored wherever possible or if not then high quality replacement originals - e.g. it has all new original-type Dunlop disc brakes.
