The Porsche 924 Turbo is an outsider in many ways.
This dramatic evolution of his atmospheric brother forces respect. Not only because of the spectacular power increase to 170hp and later 177hp, but also due to the evolution of the chassis, the brakes and the bodywork of the car.
Porsche used all available know-how in the area of turbo technology to give the 924 the image that was missing until then. This resulted in a genuine sports car, proudly wearing the Porsche badge.
The 924 Turbo (model code 931) received a new designed cylinder head, in order to deliver the desired higher power in combination with a KKK turbo. The suspension was also uprated and, in addition to better springs, shock absorbers and stabilizers, the wheel hubs and brakes of the Porsche 911 SC were fitted. The bodywork received multiple cooling gaps to provide the engine with sufficient fresh air. The 924 Turbo was also fitted with larger rims and a spoiler on the trunk lid.
A total of 3875 of these turbo versions were produced for the European market, making these cars today very rare.
This 924 turbo is a model year 1981, with the upgraded 177hp engine and dog leg five-speed gearbox.
This version 2 benefits of the engine and turbo upgrade, resulting in an extra 7hp and increasing reliability.
It is equipped with its original engine and gearbox, thus matching numbers, stated by its Porsche Birth Certificate (COA).
This Porsche 924 Turbo was originally delivered in Italy, it is completely original and in very good condition.
The interior is well conserved with only minimal signs of usage, the upholstery and the seats clearly indicate that this car was used with care and caution.
The car is also equipped with the original luggage cover in the trunk, the original tool kit is also present.
We gave this nice car a complete technical service and check-up, with replacement of many parts: timing belt, turbo, exhaust, all oils, filters and spark plugs, all ignition parts, front brake rotors and pads, misc hoses and lines, steering linkages. We also restored and resprayed the alloy wheels, which make them look as new again.
A very nice sports car, reliable, spacious and comfortable.
Thanks to its perfect weight distribution and stunning performance it is also a car that excels in classic car rallies or regularity competitions!
