Beschreibung

1966 Aston Martin DB6 Vantage finished in Deep Ocean Blue with Oatmeal hide interior and sitting on superb Chrome Wire Wheels, shod with Goodyear radial tyres. This 4 owner, matching numbers motor car is an exceptional example, not to be confused with many very average cars currently coming to market. It comes with a detailed history file recording all works that have been carried out on the car through the ownership of its four custodians. It is in wonderful condition in terms of both bodywork and interior and is mechanically outstanding. It is a joy to drive.

It was purchased when new by Michael John Davidson in March 1966 and was registered with his personal number of MJD 361. He kept the car until April 1980 when it was purchased by George Geeson who kept it for a further 15 years until 1995. During his ownership he commissioned some chassis repairs and an engine refresh amounting to just over £10,000.

In 1995 it was purchased by the third owner David Baker from Somerset by which time it was apparently in need of considerable restoration. From the detailed history file and a recent conversation with David Baker it appears that he embarked on a protracted but very detailed rebuild of the car, largely by Panelrama in Northamptonshire for body and chassis works with innumerable parts being supplied by Jonathan Wardle and a complete engine rebuild by Ray Buckley who was a well-respected Aston engine builder at the time. The extent to which this car was restored can be seen in the pictures below and the expenditure amounted to around £55,000. David Baker kept the car until 2010 when it was purchased by its present owner who due to work commitments is based largely overseas, hence during his ownership the car has covered less than 4,000 miles and remains in superb condition throughout. Prior to his purchase he had the car fully appraised by Bill Goodall of Newlands Motors who is a fully qualified engineer with years of Aston Experience. His excellent report forms part of the history file. If you have been searching for a DB6 Vantage with manual transmission that is superb in every way and needs no further expenditure, look no further. Very reasonably priced at £299,500
