Owner and Seller ist Gerhard Schöneberg, the builder and driver of this uniqe Norton Manx. There is a 6page Article about him and the history of this Race Bike in the actual „Oldtimer-Praxis“. Actually I wait for the translation of the article.
This Norton Manx is unique worldwide in any way.
Desmodromic 4 Valve Cylinder Head. 1949 Norton made some experiments with desmodromic valves but Gerhard realised it finally. It is the work of a lifetime of a gifted engineer and and racing enthusiast.
Made and build to the very last screw with professional equipment from the best possible materials with the know how of metallurgy, racing engineering, engine and carriage and a ton of experiences of the european racetracks.
The Schöneberg Manx is raceproven and durable for long distance tracks. The bike is faster with more rpm and more torque than any other bike which is maybe comparable. The extreme low weight of 126KG or 250pounds supports this very well.
The engine is powerful and runs smooth from idle to max rpm. All components are optimised to High-End Standards and their use and interaction with all other components and the track. John Surtees said to Gerhard something like - „If we would have this bike earlier - MV would never got famous.“
The bike is race-ready and can be tested.
The package is complete with ALL of the hundreds of technical drawings and construction details - You can built another one from it.
There are all offerings to the god of spped during the phase of optimising within also a bucket of spare parts.
If distance and language/communication will work, Gerhard will support the new owner as good as possible while the first time.
