The 300 B was manufactured between 1953 and 1969 in various versions. It was Gilera's first two-cylinder road bike. Its engine was derived from the 1952 150's twin, with some mechanical modifications. It was a great success in terms of sales, many of which came from Italian traffic police. The 300 B featured a parallel twin air-cooled Otto cycle engine with Dell'Orto MB20B carburettor. The valvetrain featured rods and rocker arms with a single camshaft in the crankcase, while the transmission was a chain final drive with four-speed gearbox on the engine with controls on the right. In structural terms, it was composed of a tubular steel open duplex cradle.
