There has always been a lot of demand for open minis, which were basically not made by BMC. The Dutch MINI Specialist Ben van Leeuwen got the authorization from the Dutch authorities to build a number of mini conversions in the nineties.
This mini is number 53 of a total of 60 with the 1000cc engine and came on the road in March 1986.
The previous owner restored the car completely and at the same time "embellished" the car with a body kit and new interior. The technical part of the car (engine etc) has been checked again in December 2021 by a specialist of which invoices are present.
"SUZY" as the car is called, has been inspected by the "Rijksdienst voor het Wegverkeer" in the Netherlands and has received an approval so she could be registered. Suzy now spends her days in the south-west of France where she enjoys driving around in the sun. She has just received a new MOT (Controle Technik) approval and is now on French plates.
