Description

We are very pleased to present this beautiful Blue MGB Roadster to the market, a car in fantastic condition and equipped with a Supercharger Kit enhancing performance. The uprated MGB’s always offer that extra piece of excitement to take out on the road, this example, with its upgraded stopping power and suspension, is the perfect MGB for those who want a truly exceptional MG driving experience. Interestingly, the owner who commissioned the fitting of the supercharger was the First Officer on the Concorde Airliners final flight from New York. He had chosen this MGB after inspecting many, and decided it was structurally the best car he'd seen with a view to enhancing and carrying out performance upgrades. The Pilot took the car to Mechspec in Doncaster who are the obvious choice when it comes to mechanically enhancing an MGB engine. Mechspec fitted the Supercharger kit, along with a Peter Burgess supercharger cylinder Head, uprated camshaft, a 1-2-3 Distributor, a Tourist Trophy Stainless Steel Exhaust, and a Ford Type 9 5-speed Gearbox. STH810S was then offered to the dyno where after all the fantastic upgrades had been fitted, now produced 148bhp.

The car moved on to its next owner who has thoroughly enjoyed this super little sportscar over the course of his 6-year ownership. The MGB has only been seen out in fair weather and has been garage kept for the duration. Classic MG Services in Fareham have been taking care of the vehicle for the last 6 years with its most recent service being carried out around 600 miles ago. Lillywhite Brothers, MGB Racing Specialists based in Hampshire have carried out some very impressive suspension work to STH 810S that included new lowered leaf springs for the rear, a ¾ inch competition anti roll bar, upgraded front shock absorbers, and had polybushed the new anti-roll bar and spring hangers. The braking system has also seen a significant upgrade having been replaced with 4-pot calipers on the front along with vented brake discs which offer immense deceleration.

Looking round the car, you are met with lovely blue paint, Revolution 4 spoke wheels, and a gorgeous new mohair hood. Inside the car, the interior has been very well kept with few signs of wear that you would expect on the driver's seat. To take this MGB out on the road is unlike your average MGB, it is very quick and has a lot of power in the top end with the reassurance of strong brakes, responsive steering, and firm suspension with a lower centre of gravity. With the 5-speed gearbox it offers a very comfortable touring experience with only 2,800 revs at 60mph.
