Jaguar's founder was William Lyons and until 1931 its brand name was S.S. (Swallow Sidecars) after its original purpose of being elegant sidecars for motorcycles. After the war, the company was renamed as Jaguar, for obvious reasons. Initially manufacturing was based on pre war construction. A new innovation was the 6-cylinder engine with double overhead camshafts, first seen in the Jaguar XK 120. In October 1950 the new luxury limousine MK VII with the same high performance engine was introduced. It got the car to a speed of 160 km/h which was a sensation in those years.
Our Jaguar MK VII was delivered in Kiel/Germany in 1953 and is a rare European model with LHD. Since 1984 the classic was second hand and thoroughly maintained despite its mere 25,000 km mileage. Since 2017 it has been with its third owner with only 60,000 km mileage. Everything about this classic limousine is authentic but not over-restored. Where else can you find a LHD Jaguar MK VII with German history and such low mileage?
