What a great car to drive and what a stunning design (made by Malcolm Sayer) !

Even Enzo Ferrari admitted that this model was “the most beautiful car ever built”. The E-Type Series I was introduced in Europe on March 15, 1961 at the Geneva Motor Show and in the United States in April of the same year at the New York Motor Show. The car was designed as a two-seater GT (FHC) coupe and a two-seater convertible (OTS).

After fifty-six -years this extraordinary design still attracts attention and inspires designers.

The New York City Museum of Modern Art added one to their collection in 1996 as one of only six iconic cars it exhibits. For more information see : https://www.moma.org/calendar/exhibitions/282

Our offer:

This Flat Floor from 1961 is number 533 of the very first production E-Type ( 1582 LHD roadsters were made till February 1962) It has inherited the 3.8 litre six-cylinder engine from the Jaguar XK150 with triple SU carburetors, fully independent suspension and disc brakes all around. The 4-speed Moss gearbox had synchronization on the three top gears, but not on the first gear.

The car has all the features of the early produced E types like leather seats, aluminum dashboard and the flat floor, but it lacks de external bonnet latches.

This is an opportunity to buy, not only one of the most sought after E-Type models Series 1, with 'matching numbers (chassis and engine), 3.8 liters, 'flat floor', but one that has been beautifully restored but still original. The car is fully documented (history and service) and in mint condition.
