The Aston Martin Vanquish is a masterpiece of design by Ian Callum. It was the official successor to the Aston Martin Virage. Scientists like to describe this kind of step as being a “Quantum leap”. Where the Virage was archaic in both form and production, the Vanquish was a contemporary design using ultra-modern technology of the year 2000. It should be considered a proper "Tour de force”, a gigantic leap forwards in comparison to every Aston that had gone before. It has a composite and aluminium chassis. Its beating heart is a 5.9 litre V12 which in our case drive a robotised 6-speed gearbox. The description of an Aston Martin Vanquish wouldn’t be complete without mentioning the Jame Bond movie “Die another day”, especially as our car happens to be clad in the same “Tungsten Silver” coat. This originally American supplied car arrived in The Netherlands in 2016. Since it arrived in The Netherlands it has only had one owner who also happened to be an entrepreneur. The latter means that in the Netherlands the car qualifies for business VAT relief status of 21%. The car has always been maintained in an exemplary fashion. Maintenance was carried out by Aston Martin dealerships in the States and by specialist firms in the Netherlands. The car is also extremely well documented. A full car wallet is present as well as a large file containing import papers, a Carfax rapport, pictures of the American purchase test and invoices. Everything seems in order and consistent with the car’s overall condition. Standing next to the Tungsten Silver paintwork you cannot be but impressed with its quality and condition. The aluminium “Super formed” bodywork is in perfect condition. The nice and thin panelwork is perfectly aligned. The full leather and aluminium interior trim are stunning. It has started to develop a lovely patina without signs of wear and tear. As you quite rightly should expect from a car of this calibre, it is fully decked out. It has Sat-Nav, a Linn sound system, full leather upholstery, flappy paddles, cruise control and electronically adjustable seats. In short, this is the ultimate, perfectly decked out British Grand Tourer. It is, without doubt, one of the most beautiful cars designed over the last 20 years and the perfect candidate to cruise the highways and byways of Europe in style and at speed. All you have to do once arrived is to order the Martini. Shaken not stirred! Gallery Aaldering is Europe’s leading Classic Cars specialist since 1975!
