356 Speedster recreation on a 1965 VW chassis. Chassis number: 1156376671. Finished in "triple black" with a black body, black interior, and black soft top, this beautiful recreation of the 356 Speedster looks stunning! This stunning Speedster recreation is built on a shortened chassis of a 1965 Volkswagen Beetle. The body of this recreation is shaped exactly like the original 356 A Speedster (with the curved windshield) that Porsche produced between 1955 and 1959 and is made of glass fiber reinforced plastic (GRP) instead of metal. Every detail of the exterior and interior is true to the original. The dashboard, gauges, steering wheel, gear lever, door handles, logos and emblems (not visible in the photos due to Porsche ownership rights), headlights and taillights, wheels, and hubcaps are all identical to the original. The soft floor mats are a later addition, but they give this spartan sports car an extra comfortable feel! The air-cooled VW four-cylinder boxer engine delivers punchy performance and produces an impressive sound. This recreation of the 356 Speedster is in beautiful and very good condition; the car shows only minor signs of wear. The car comes with a black mohair soft top, tonneau cover, and side windows and is registered in the Netherlands. Approximately 4144 original Porsche 356 Speedsters (of which 2910 were A-models) were built by Porsche. These cars are rare, highly sought-after, and therefore very expensive. However, a good replica is affordable and can be an ideal alternative for many to enjoy the beauty, style, and special driving experience of a 356 Speedster. This is a beautiful example that can only be distinguished from an original by a specialist.
