Beschreibung

This is likely the very best Jaguar MKII 3.8 Automatic we have brought to the market. We sold the car to its most recent owners on the Isle of Man in 2018 for £59,995, and having had light use on the island, it was then placed on display at the Isle of Man Motor Museum. We have collected the car directly from the museum, and having had a couple of years on display, this top class car will now be fully serviced ready for its next owner. This is a very early MKII that was manufactured on the 23rd of October 1959 and therefore retains some very early features such as the recessed sun visors and right hand positioned indicator stalk as per the MKI Jaguar. This is a very special car that has the most outstanding, first-class bodyshell, only seen in the rarest top quality original cars or high class, expensive restorations. To restore a MKII Jaguar to this standard today could well cost in excess of £100,000 and cars of this quality are very difficult to buy.

Distributed from Jaguar Cars, New York and dispatched on the 20th of November 1959, the first owner was F M Wolff and the MKII was ordered new with automatic transmission. During the 1990's the Jaguar was brought to the Netherlands and was subject of a magnificent, total rebuild commissioned by the cars Dutch, lady owner. The MKII was professionally converted to right-hand drive in Holland, in anticipation of the owner moving to Aberdeen where she set up several oil industry Company's. In 2000 the Jaguar was UK registered and from 2000 to 2012 covered just 1000 miles. In 2012 the MKII picked up a prize at a major Scottish Jaguar Enthusiasts Club event and is a truly exceptional car in every respect.

From 2012 to 2018 the Jaguar was in dry storage arrived with us for a program of light re-commissioning programme in our workshops. Due to flat spots in the tyres, a brand-new set were fitted, and the automatic gearbox was fully overhauled. The Jaguar was serviced with fresh oil and filters, new spark plugs and brakes were cleaned, checked and are as new. Seven years later Jaguar has returned to us and we can confirm after road testing that it holds superb, makers oil pressure, and the 3.8 unit is in excellent order offering impressive performance. The BW gearbox has perfect, smooth changes and is one of the best we have experienced, the Jaguar is equipped with power steering which ensures the car is relaxing and somewhat effortless to drive. Having only covered in the region of 1500 miles since 2018, and 2500 now since the rebuild over twenty three years ago, the MKII is mechanically first class and is a true delight to drive.

This is a stunning show class car, the bodyshell is incredible, the doors close perfectly, just as they would have when it left the factory in 1959. The panels are simply first class, totally straight with excellent gaps and the underside is outstanding and one of the best we have witnessed on a MKII. The Indigo Blue paintwork has a beautiful shine so many years on from restoration and a brilliant finish is evident. The chrome work is of a very high standard, and the engine bay is beautifully presented. The upholstery has been finished to the highest of standards with stunning re-furbished woodwork and high-quality carpets and headlining. The seats have been trimmed with the highest quality leather and everything inside the car works correctly. The driving experience is further enhanced by such a luxurious, high-quality interior that would cost in the region of £15000/£20,000 to re-create considering the high costs in achieving woodwork to this standard.

Every part of this vehicle highlights quality, and this certainly has to be the very best Automatic MKII we have come across in 35 years of selling classic cars. This is a special car, and one to really drive and enjoy. Following its period off the road it has been recently fitted with a new fuel pump and battery. The car will be fully serviced, MOT tested and be subject to a thorough brake service before being delivered to its next owner.
