A 21st-century Ferrari V8
“Unlike any other supercar, I haven’t found a single environment in which it’s anything other than spectacular.” Those are not our words, rather those of Jeremy Clarkson. The car he was describing? Ferrari’s F430, the Prancing Horse’s first mid-engined V8 supercar of the 21st century.
Gone were the soft curves of the 360 Modena and in came a more tweaked, pruned and functional aerodynamic body, characterised most obviously by the front end inspired directly by Ferrari’s ‘shark nose’ Formula 1 cars of the 1960s. The F430 marked Ferrari’s first application of its steering-wheel mounted ‘manettino’. With the help of a mind-boggling suite of Formula 1-dervied software, the small jelly bean-like rotary switch transformed the character of the car in a twist, from more adept at handling snow and ice to full, sharp track attack mode. All this advanced technology resulted not only in extraordinary performance, but also the unrivalled versatility Clarkson was referencing.
With the neat fabric roof folded away (it takes less than 20 seconds), the car’s versatility is only enhanced. Not to mention the glorious flat-plane howl of the stunning 4.3-litre V8 is entirely unobstructed, escalating from deep and bassy to shrill and ear-bleeding. On the right day, on the right road and in the right weather, we are happy to guarantee that you will never forget a spirited drive in an F430 Spider.
This Ferrari F430 Spider
The right-hand-drive Ferrari F430 Spider F1 we’re offering was acquired by its first and only owner in May of 2006 from the Official Ferrari Dealer Graypaul in Edinburgh. Finished in Rosso Corsa with a Beige fabric roof over a Beige leather interior with contrasting Bordeaux carpets, the car was specified with a number of desirable factory options. These included the ‘Daytona’ seats, the Scuderia wing shields, the roll hoops upholstered in matching Beige leather and the rare space-saver spare wheel beneath the bonnet.
In the years since this F430 Spider was delivered back in the spring of 2006, it’s covered a mere 3,317 miles and been serviced by Official Ferrari Dealers, most recently in March of 2026. Its condition is accordingly excellent – the bodywork is virtually blemish-free, the Rosso Corsa paintwork retaining its bold and bright allure, the Beige fabric roof is unmarked and largely uncreased, while the gorgeous Beige leather has held up extremely well, with only the lightest of wear to the outside seat bolsters and some scuffing to the ignition barrel. A remarkable fact considering this Ferrari is now almost exactly 20 years old. Furthermore, we’ve had the car comprehensively detailed.
In addition to its factory books, spare key, tool kit, jack set and rare space-saver spare wheel, this F430 also retains its original Ferrari purchase invoice and its ultra-rare Vehicle Identification Passport, detailing this particular car’s factory production process in a series of behind-the-scenes photographs. We’ve certainly never encountered an F430 Spider that’s felt so fresh. At a time when collectors are coveting low-mileage limited-production modern-era Ferraris more than ever before, this single-owner 3,317-mile F430 Spider ticks all the right boxes. It’s a wonderfully cherished and highly original example of Ferrari’s first proper 21st-century mid-engined V8 supercar.
